Safety First

  • Work in a ventilated area. Keep sparks, flames, and hot work away from fuel vapor.
  • Keep hands, clothing, and test leads clear of belts, fans, pulleys, and rotating parts.
  • Support vehicles correctly (jack stands on solid points). Never rely on a jack.
  • Fuel systems can be pressurized and spray. Relieve pressure safely and control spills.
  • Ignition systems can produce high voltage. Use proper testers and insulated tools.
  • Disconnect the battery when appropriate and follow OEM procedures for airbag and electrical safety.
